Just a short walk outside the La Contessa gates is an array of exciting restaurants to tempt your palate! Tucked into the northwest corner shopping center at Shea and 90th Street, you’ll find the cozy local hangout 92nd Street Café – Sports Bar, not only is the food good; so is the karaoke! In the opposite corner is Jade Palace, authentic Chinese food with all your favorites, egg foo young, Peking duck and pork fried rice, to name just a few. Then step next door for the yummiest, handcrafted, and all natural, award-winning ice cream, at Sweet Republic. They have your classics and some not so classic, like “black licorice” ice cream, they even have vegan ice cream that is dairy-free!

On the southeast corner of 92nd Street and Shea, in the Mercado Del Rancho center, you’ll find options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Of course, there is McDonald’s and Starbucks, both with a drive-thru and Chompies, Jewish delicatessen and bakery, serving comfort food all day long. Sushi Ko, Japanese restaurant and sushi bar is hidden away in the back corner and prepares some of the freshest sushi and excellent tempura in town. Also, for a grab and go lunch you’ll find Chipolte Mexican Grill, Quiznos and Gyro Express. Lots of great eats within walking distance!

The center behind the Mercado, 94 Hundred Shea, adds three wonderful lunch and dinner choices. Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar & Grill, Salt & Lime, Modern Mexican Grill and last, but not least, S&V Urban Italian – a great Happy Hour spot with tasty Italian fare. As they say in Italy…Manjia, Manjia…eat, eat!!
